Hallym and UCLA experts discuss issues on Initiatives to Build a Competitive Healthcare System: Nursing Excellence

Under the theme of 'Initiatives to Build a Competitive Healthcare System: Nursing Excellence', the 3rd HUMC-UCLA Joint International Conference was successfully held at Hallym University Dongtan Sacred Heart Hospital on November 14, 2017.


The symposium attracted nearly 160 participants, including 10 prominent speakers in nursing department who joined the meeting to share expert knowledge on nursing excellence.




Distinguished speakers from UCLA including Chief Nursing Executive Karen Grimley, Executive Director Janet Rimicci, Executive Director Meg Armbruster, Nursing Informaticist Meg Furukawa, and Nursing Simulation Program Coordinator Kenneth Miller presented their experience on the issue.




The symposium was comprised of three sessions with 10 lectures. The first session covered 'Importance of Nursing Excellence in the Delivery of Patient Care', 'Predictive Nursing for Patient Safety Based on Big Data Analysis', and 'MOVERS: Strategizing and Operationalizing Quality Management through Nursing Leadership'.


In the second session, speakers presented on 'Redesign of Nursing Services to Maximize Patient and Family Experience', 'Hospital Regulation - the Road to Patient Safety', and 'A Strategic Service Design to Enhance Patient Experience in Critical Care of Burn Patients'.


After a short coffee break, the third session began with presentations on 'The Role of Nursing Informatics', 'Nursing Informatics in Hallym University Medical Center', 'Simulation Based Learning Best Practices in Nursing', and 'Improving the Quality of Care through Nursing Excellence Program'.
