Hallym, UCLA Agree to Initiate Cooperation and Exchange

Hallym University Medical Center (HUMC) and the University of California, Los Angeles, (UCLA) signed a memorandum of understanding to develop collaborations and exchanges in fields of shared interest and held the 1st joint international conference themed ‘Strategic Initiatives in Healthcare: Maximizing the Patient Experience through Clinical and Operational Improvements’ on Sep 14, 2015 at Hallym University Dongtan Sacred Heart Hospital.


Under the agreement, the two institutions have agreed to encourage the development of the following types of activities:


■ Collaboration on benchmarking and process improvement best practices

■ Collaboration on scholar exchange at the resident, fellow, and faculty levels as well as for nurses, administrative staff and paramedical staff

■ Collaboration on research in areas of mutual interest to both parties

■ Access to training and educational programs at the partner organization

■ Exchange programs in medical, nursing, and administrative areas of interest as allowed by both organizations

■ Exploration of other partnership opportunities, including but not limited to joint hospital and departmental management opportunities



UCLA Health is consistently ranked as one of the top hospitals and the best in the Western United States in the national rankings by U.S. News and World Report and the MOU signing between the two institutions is based on a spirit of cooperation and reciprocity that is intended to be of mutual benefit to both parties.
