No.3860 Date2013-02-27 Hit 27766

Hallym University Hangang Sacred Heart Hospital and the National 119 Rescue Services signed a memorandum of understanding for mobilizing 119 rescue helicopters for burn patients, the hospital announced on Feb. 27, 2013.

Under the agreement, the two parties agreed on the importance of early stage treatment of burn patients and also on the need for establishing a systematic transport system to quickly deliver burn patients to the hospital via helicopters.

“We chose Hallym University Hangang Sacred Heart Hospital because it is internationally acclaimed medical institution for burn treatment,” said an official at the National 119 Rescue Services. “The agreement paves us a way to speedily send wounded people and allow them access to accurate treatment in the wake of fire and explosion at disaster sites.”

Hallym University Hangang Sacred Heart Hospital is the world’s largest institution dedicated to burn treatment. Since winning the status of emergency medical center for burn care from the Ministry of Health and Welfare in 2006, the hospital’s doctors conducted over 1,700 operations on average per year and have treated 1,200 inpatients every year.
