Aramco Donates $200,000 to Hallym Burn Foundation

No.2682 Date2010-12-03 Hit 32370

The Hallym Burn Foundation received 220 million won ($200,000) on November 24 through donation from Aramco which is one of the world’s largest oil companies. Aramco, a parent company of Aramco Overseas Company B.V. (AOC), which is one of shareholders of a local refinery, S-Oil, has been continuously involved in corporate philanthropic programs in Korea.

Abdullah Al-Suwailem, the head of the AOC Hong Kong Office, visited the Hallym Burn Foundation at Hangang Sacred Heart Hospital, and contributed $200,000 to underprivileged children who are suffering from burns.

“Aramco is doing joint ventures with companies the world over such as S-Oil in Korea, and has made social contributions for education and health. We hope that our donation would be helpful for kids who need repeated surgeries, and constant care so that they might not lose courage and hope for the recovery of their body and mind,” said Suwailem.

Established in May this year, the Hallym Burn Foundation, the only institution for burn children in Korea, plans to support them and hold the 3rd Burn Camp in Korea this winter.
