The Department of Pathology provides the final diagnosis of diseases, conducting histopathologic examination, cytopathology, and molecular analysis. For histopathology, specimens from biopsy and surgery are examined under a microscope after fixation, dewatering, paraffin-embedding, microtome sectioning, and staining. To perform accurate and prompt diagnosis, with a help of test techniques such as frozen section, special stains, immunohistochemistry, and molecular testing, the department works closely with clinical doctors in their decisions on treatment directions.
